Pre Arrival Information
What happens when I arrive?
We will aim to arrive around 4.30pm on Friday afternoon and will meet at the Marina Village Reception where we will head down to apartment to check in.
What’s included in my stay at the accommodation?
• Full use of The Old England Leisure Club & Spa
• Breakfasts, lunch/picnic for the walks and evening meals are included. If you want to bring any extra rations feel free.
• There is a lovely, big balcony with a marina view to enjoy your morning coffee – after Boot Camp of course!
What do I need to bring?
Footwear: Trainers, old trainers for getting wet, walking boots, slippers, flip flops for the spa.
Comfortable walking clothing, waterproof pants and jackets
Workout clothing, (usual gym/boot camp attire) layers are important
Swim wear, googles if you want to swim,
Jumpers, thick socks and trainer socks,
Evening wear – comfortable clothes
Hat & gloves
Extra towels for the leisure club although they are available for hire at The Old England if required.
Rucksack for walks
Please bring a flask as I plan on making some soup to keep you warm for the walks.
Toiletries: As you normally would for a holiday
Extras: Camera, phones, money, sun cream – in case of a freak heat wave, torch, any necessary medication and a sense of adventure!
What is the Itinerary:
To have fun and enjoy yourselves!!
6pm – Walk/Run into Bowness before you sit down to a lovely home cooked meal.
Friday night I have a few games planned to get you in the mood!!
7am- Morning jog/boot camp session for those feeling energetic!
10am – 8 mile walk up to Coniston old man and an afternoon wander around Coniston. A dip in the Lake if you wish.
Sat afternoon – choices Spa and swim at the McDonald hotel in Bowness. Stretch and massage.
You can sit back and relax as we prepare you a healthy, nutritious evening meal.
Saturday Night – 30 minute Massage
7.30 – Boot camp and stretching
9am Leave for Glenridding – Here we will head for a hike around Aira Force waterfalls by Ullswater. Until finishing in a café underneath Helvelyn.
Sunday afternoon – Massage and swim or gym
Back to Bowness for a lovely evening meal and relax
8am Boot Camp and stretching session
Breakfast before we pack up and check out.
Where can I park?
There is ample parking outside our accommodation.
Is there a shop nearby?
The nearest shop is Tesco Express in Bowness. You will also find a Booths supermarket further up the hill in Windermere, along with Sainsburys.
The Boathouse Bar & Restaurant
The Boathouse, on site restaurant, is open every day for drinks, meals & light snacks, providing a lovely view over the marina.
What’s on offer at The Old England Leisure Club & Spa?
The Old England Leisure Club & Spa is a 15 minute walk from our accommodation. The facilities for your use include a pool, sauna, steam room, gym and spa treatments.

Directions to Windermere Marina Village, Bowness.
Follow the signs to Bowness on the Lake. As you drive through Bowness head out of town along the A592 towards Newby Bridge. Don’t turn right towards the Ferry, keep going. Follow the road round and it is your first right Signposted Windermere Marina Village. Easy!
